Another good reason for doing this is that I have a tendency to be a little ADD with my projects...including this. That's why this blog has been over a year in the making. I've started it several times, renamed it, redid the layout and never posted a thing. My hope is that with the blog, I can actually start something and FINISH it! I always find something that needs to be done before I can do this, before I can do that, before.... blah, blah, blah. If I actually post about a started project, maybe that will give me the impetus to continue and finish. Here's hoping anyway.
Okay. I guess introductions are necessary. I'm Nate. I recently moved into a homely little 1960 Ranch (bordering on traditional) house in a fairly quiet neighborhood in Houston.
It's actually the first house that I've ever rented. I've painted, decorated and furnished several apartments in the past but having a whole house is new to me. In the 4 months (well, almost 5 now) that I've lived here, I've decided on most of the things I want to do. I do have a tendency to change my mind but we'll see how things turn out. Have I actually finished anything? No, but I am on track with a few things. Let's just say that this is an ongoing project. I would list some of the things that I would like to do but even an abbreviated list might be to long. Let's just say that EVERYTHING needs refreshed or updated in some way. It is 53 years old...and luckily still has some original touches. Also in the works: yard, flower beds, and of course, I have furniture to refinish or build and lighting to update and repurpose.

Of course, there's still everyday life to deal with. One of the 'everyday' things that I LOVE to deal with is my little friend, Cora the mini schnauzer. She's a great companion and makes me laugh daily. She loves being in a house too. The back yard is hers, she knows it and reminds me of it too. She doesn't like invaders, especially orange wheelbarrows. :-)

Well, I suppose that's it for the introduction right now. Finally, the first post is going up. Let's see how the subsequent ones go.
Welcome all...and I hope you enjoy!
